Creating
a Learning Module
Blackboard provides as one option, a learning module,
that is basically a container for web pages that appear in a
sequence.
Learning Module Features
-
consist of a table of
contents to which files are added - any type of file may be added such
as a web page, word document, powerpoint file, audio file etc.
-
provide an automatic
navigation system, to enable the student to move through
the pages simply by clicking on the next button in the Action Menu at the
top of the screen.
-
provide for addition of
interactive elements such as self-tests, direct link to relevant discussion
posting etc that can be added to the left menu for each page
-
include multi-media options, such as
audio and video that can be added to the
left Menu so that
students can read the page, hear an explanation, and possibly observe
modeling of a concept by viewing a video
-
contain an HTML editor which
enables faculty to create or edit web pages within the module
Naming Files
Remember to name the files in a
logical manner so that you can easily recognize their location in your
web site. For example, this page is named m3conmod.htm. This means
module 3 learning or content module.
