Learning Innovations and
Academic Development, or LIAD, is both a service and
delivery department at George Brown. We offer a variety
of online and distance programs and courses, and general education electives. |
In our service role, we foster
and support the use of educational technologies to enhance
and enrich learning and teaching at GBC. Whether it’s
getting set up in Blackboard, creating a web page, designing
and conducting online surveys, or learning how to use
threaded discussions or chats, LIAD is here to help faculty
use e-tools to help students learn.
George Brown College has built and maintains a robust technical infrastructure
to accommodate the rapid expansion of e-learning, working
closely with our Information Technology partners, Blackboard will be our focus to provide the strength, scope,
and stability needed.
As part of our Academic Development mandate LIAD fosters internal human resource capacity, both within
LIAD, itself and within the broader college community. |
