Learning Innovations and
Academic Development, or LIAD, is both a service and
delivery department at George Brown. We offer a variety
of online and distance programs and courses, like Logistics
and Supply Chain Management, Court Reporting, Creative
Writing, and general education electives. |
In our service role, we foster
and support the use of educational technologies to enhance
and enrich learning and teaching at GBC. Whether it’s
getting set up in Blackboard, creating a web page, designing
and conducting online surveys, or learning how to use
threaded discussions or chats, LIAD is here to help faculty
use e-tools to help students learn.
I hope you find something helpful, informative, or interesting
in this e-zine, and, please, send us your comments and
suggestions, and share your best e-teaching and learning
experiences and accomplishments. We’d love to hear
from you.
Building and maintaining a robust technical infrastructure
to accommodate the rapid expansion of e-learning. Working
closely with our Information Technology partners, Blackboard will be our focus to provide the strength, scope,
and stability needed.
Building internal human resource capacity, both within
LIAD itself and within the broader college community.
