PRESENTATIONS   (in pairs)

Value: 10%

(a) At the conclusion of the PSYCHIC EXPLORER game, each individual will speak for approximately 2 minutes about his/her TPP and their PPP, and about how he/she was able to express new aspects of themselves, and fool others through their PPPs.  How was this kind of self-designed cognitive restructuring of your personality beneficial and rewarding for you?

(b) Students who feel a more personal interest in a particular topic other than those dealt with in PSYCHIC EXPLORER may speak on other topics pertaining specifically to this course.  These kinds of talks should be of a similar length of time (and no more than 5 minutes), the subject matter must be approved by the professor, and the time must be arranged with Reeves in person.

Mar. 26          REPORT:   Minimum: 1500 words

Format: report  .     Value: 30%

A)        Write a REPORT describing your own experiences and what you perceived of your SHADOW's experiences during the  PSYCHIC EXPLORER game.  To do this, it is important to keep a journal of your thoughts and ideas throughout the nine-week process.

1) Write a report (summary, table of contents, introduction, background, analysis, conclusions, implications) on your experience playing 'PSYCHIC EXPLORER,' providing, every step of the way, in-depth psychological analyses (with appropriate references) of your behaviours and those of others.

2) Provide at least 4 psychological references other than Internet sources, using rigorous MLA or APA referencing style (see a good style guide for formats), both in-text and in a BIBLIOGRAPHY.  Internet sources are permissible, but they must be in addition to your 4 hard-copied books.

3) Describe in detail, using Falikowski's personality profile terminology as well as personal descriptors, WHO you were during PSYCHIC EXPLORER and explain HOW that person was different from the person you usually are; talk about the reasons WHY you decided to use that particular PERSONA during the game;  WHAT benefits did such a personality have for your SELF-IMAGE, your DEFENCES, etc.?;  explain WHAT you learned from 'Psychic Explorer'; discuss the circumstances WHEN and WHERE you might decide to BE your new PERSONA-- will it be all or most of the time, or perhaps just when you're at work, for example?

4) In an appendix, include a detailed report of the results of both your TPP and your PPP, and refer to these in your analyses.

B)        In collaboration with a partner, write a REPORT on an alternative psychological/ communication issue in your life and your 'human relations.'  Work hard at helping one another to understand strengths and weaknesses in your particular approach to the psychological issue you have chosen.  Deal with its structure rigorously, in the same manner as outlined in Option A.  Be certain that YOU, YOUR PERSONALITY, and the way you COMMUNICATE are, in some major way, the SUBJECTs of ANALYSIS in your report and the focal points of your study.  (e.g. Are you entirely happy with your personality?  How would you improve it?  What psychological ideas may prove helpful to you?  What psychological ideas have you looked into?  What psychological principles interest you, and why?).  Clear all TOPIC ideas with your professor.
